Ryan Hansen - Varsity Head Coach

Varsity Head Coach

Coach Hansen is entering his 8th season as coach of the Auburn Trojans.  He is a 1996 graduate of Cascade High School in Leavenworth.

Coach Hansen was the state’s all-time leading scorer in basketball from 1992-1996.  He went on to play college basketball at Walla Walla Community College and then at Eastern Washington University.  Coach was also the all-time leading scorer at WWCC and was selected as a Big-Sky all-conference player at EWU.  Coach Hansen teaches Physical Education at Auburn High School.

Dan Lisk - JV Head Coach

JV Head Coach

Coach Lisk is in his 4th year as a coach in the Auburn program under coach Hansen.

This is Coach Lisk’s second stint at AHS as he previously served from 1999-2002 as a Freshmen Coach for then Head Coach Tony Callero. Prior to that, he spent 9 seasons as a Varsity Assistant at then Lakeridge Jr. High, now Lakeridge Middle School in Bonney Lake.

Coach Lisk graduated from Auburn High School in 1986 where he excelled in basketball and football.  He then went on to Renton Technical College and currently works for Boeing where he’s managed to stay employed for 22 years. He could describe what it is he does at Boeing, but he just likes to say “It’s a Boeing thing….you wouldn’t understand” and leave it at that.

He brings a tremendous level of intensity and basketball knowledge that will benefit all our players.

When not on the basketball court, Coach Lisk can be found with his wife Tami and daughter Danielle (11) somewhere near salt water as they love to head to the beach often, and have found many spots in Washington and Oregon to park their beloved old Motor home for camping weekends. Together they can be found on the sideline of a soccer field or basketball court somewhere supporting their daughter Danielle’s endeavors.

Coach Lisk and his wife Tami have been married for 22 years and along with daughter Danielle they share their home with, 2 dogs, 3 fish, and a mole who has taken up seemingly permanent residence in their front yard. They are longtime residents of Bonney Lake, as in there was no Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s or Home Depot when they moved there.

"It is hard for me to put into words exactly how excited I am to be a part of the Auburn basketball family," said Way. "I've known and admired Coach Hansen for nearly 12 years and I have the utmost respect for him as a coach, mentor and friend. There aren't too many times in life a person gets the opportunity to reunite with his former teammates, join one of the most respected coaches in the business and walk into a situation where the team has a legitimate chance to make a deep run in the state 4A tourney."

Along with his Auburn High duties coach Way is presently the varsity boys coach at Olympic Middle School.  He’s been at the helm since 2005 preparing his players to play at the high school level.
