Coach Hansen is entering his 10th season as coach of the Auburn Trojans.  He is a 1996 graduate of Cascade High School in Leavenworth.  Coach Hansen was the state’s all-time leading scorer in basketball from 1992-1996.  He went on to play college basketball at Walla Walla Community College and then at Eastern Washington University.  Coach was also the all-time leading scorer at WWCC and was selected as a Big-Sky all-conference player at EWU.  The Auburn Trojans have had much success under Coach Hansen, including 8 trips to the playoffs, 5 state tournament appearances, and 3 league championships.  Coach and his wife Jessica have four children, Kaden (8), Carter (4), Avery (3), and Kobe (1).  They reside in Auburn. 

Position: JV Head Coach
Coach Lisk is in his 6th year as a coach in the Auburn program.  Coach Lisk graduated from Auburn High in 1986 where he excelled in basketball and football.  He then went on to Renton Technical College and currently works for Boeing.  He brings a tremendous level of intensity and basketball knowledge that will benefit all of our players.  Coach Lisk, his wife Tami, and their daughter Danielle live in Bonney Lake.
Position: C Team Head Coach

Coach VanDerPuy is in his 10th year as an assistant here at Auburn.  Coach VanDerPuy is a 1994 graduate of Curtis High School and a 1998 graduate of Western Washington University where he played football.  Coach V has had coaching experience in both football and basketball at Ferndale High School and Nooksack Valley High before teaching in the Auburn School District as a middle school teacher and coach.  He is currently teaching World History at AHS, as well as coaching the football team in the fall.  Coach V will help promote a positive environment and a winning attitude here in our basketball family.  Abe and his wife Megan live in Bonney Lake and have been married for 12 years.  They have two children; Owen (8) who plays in the ABA system, and Lauren (6) who loves being a cheerleader for the Trojans.

Position: Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Hunt launched his coaching career in Medford, Oregon in 1991 at the youth level. He’s coached both girls and boys at every level and has conducted numerous shooting camps. Coach Hunt served as a sports reporter and columnist in Medford for 32 years, retiring in 2007. He moved to Meridian, Idaho later that year and served as the boys varsity assistant at a new high school, Rocky Mountain, during the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons. Coach Hunt and his wife, Nancy, live in Fife. They have two grown daughters.
Position: Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Chew is coaching in his 7th year here at Auburn High School.  He coached 8 years at Olympic Middle School as head coach and 3 years at Seattle Christian High School as an assistant varsity coach.  Coach Chew graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1990 where he was a runner and a basketball player.  After high school, he attended Pacific Lutheran University from 1990-94 where he played basketball and graduated with a degree in business.  He currently teaches at Cascade Middle School in Auburn.  His wife Crystal (Wisness) and he are the parents of two boys, Jordan (7) and Jace (5 ½ ).  They reside in Auburn

Position: Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Way joined the basketball staff in 2007.  He brings a vast knowledge of the game and has helped elevate our program to its present status.  Coach Way graduated from Highland High School in Craigmont, Idaho in 1997.  He then went on to Walla Walla Community College, where he and Coach Hansen were teammates for one season.  After Walla Walla, Coach Way went on to play at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston Idaho.  While playing for the Warriors, Coach Way was voted to the NAIA Academic All American team along with winning a conference title and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. Along with his Auburn High duties, coach Way is presently the varsity boys coach at Olympic Middle School.  He’s been at the helm since 2005 preparing his players to play at the high school level. He currently teaches Physical Education at Olympic along with coaching basketball and track.  Coach Way and his wife Lacey have a 5 year old son named Cooper, a 3 year old son named Max, and an eight month old daughter named Kinley.  They reside in Bonney Lake.

Position: Manager

This is Bobby’s 10th year being manager of the Auburn High School Varsity team.  Bobby was born on July 21, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska.  He is the youngest of seven children.  He has two surviving sisters and the others have passed on.  He loves bowling, going to movies, and eating dinner out with friends.  His favorite basketball team is Auburn High Varsity and is favorite restaurant is Mom’s Teriyaki.  We are fortunate to have Bobby back as our manager.  He is our biggest fan and is going for an unprecedented 10th consecutive manager of the year award.
